Pool maintenance costs and frequency in Tenerife depend heavily on three things: pool size, how much it's used, and whether it's a private family pool or one that sees regular guest or rental turnover. That said, there are useful general patterns worth knowing before you set a budget.
How often
Most private residential pools do well with a weekly visit during the warmer months (roughly May–October) and can often stretch to every two weeks in the cooler months without issues, provided the pool isn't in heavy use. A pool used for holiday rentals, or a shared pool in a busy complex, generally needs weekly attention year-round regardless of season, simply because usage stays higher and more unpredictable.
What affects the price
Pool size and equipment age are the two biggest factors — a larger pool needs more chemicals and longer to clean, and older filtration equipment needs closer attention and more frequent minor repairs.
